One of the most common problems faced by humans is lower back pain. It is called lumbago, and it is a kind of generic back pain or dorsalgia. Lower back pain is one of the most common kinds of back pain. This is because the lower back supports most of the body weight. To understand acute or chronic lower back pains, you need to know about the different classification systems for back pain. The acute back pain lasts for less than four weeks, the sub-acute one lasts for 4 to 12 weeks, and the chronic one lasts for more than 12 weeks.

    Susceptibility of lower back

The lower back can be treated as a building block for the body. It provides support to the whole body through a complicated interconnecting network of joints, tendons, muscles, ligaments, and nerves. All of these elements can develop pain. As the lower back is connected with the rest of the body, it means back pain is a warning signal for underlying conditions in the body. The nerves that originate from the spine and go to the arms and legs suggest you can get pain radiating to these extremities. Pain can be felt in the upper back, neck, and lower back. This pain can migrate to the feet and legs.

    Using the Rolfing approach

To understand how the Rolfing treatment works for the lower back, you need to understand that the roots of a lower back injury can also be found in other parts of the body. Rolfing envisages the body as a series of interconnected elements. The body is designed to give internal support to all these elements. Many large components in the body provide support to the elements above them. This is relevant to the lower back as well. A technique for structural integration of the body was perfected by Dr. Ida Rolf. She asserted that the conventional technique where you stand up straight, shoulders back with a high stomach and head misaligns the spine and can deform the skeleton.

By using some manipulations, these Rolfers move all the misaligned tissues back into balance and symmetry. The technique of Rolfing is designed to loosen your fascia. It provides muscled movement freedom and removes the bad patterns of misuse and muscle strain, thereby resolving the back pain source. The release can allow the back to re-align itself correctly. If the back is correctly aligned, your back pain automatically recedes.

    Advantages of Rolfing

The biggest advantage of Rolfing is that it is a non-invasive process. You can continue with your day-to-day activities such as exercise and even sports. Yet, you will be relaxing the back muscles and allowing better movement to improve flexibility. You can stand, sit, and walk more comfortably by using this technique.

You will find that you are performing better in your physical hobbies and athletics. When you have a good posture effortlessly and naturally, your movements speed up.

It is significant to understand that Rolfing can treat your body not as an independent part but as a whole. Therefore, your entire organism re-aligns correctly. After this, you need to provide movement education to help in preventing any more recurrences of the problems you have faced. If you live in Tampa, FL, and are looking for Rolfers, look no further than Williams Rolfing.
